36 Weeks

We officially have everything we need now for baby!  No, the nursery isn't complete, but we have bought everything left that was needed on our registry, and I have to say we were pretty blessed to have so many generous friends and family members spoil us and our little one!  I'm pretty sure I had a bit of a "nesting" kick because basically all of a sudden I realized holy cow I'm almost 36 weeks and we don't have everything we need.  But now that we've purchased everything I feel much more relieved!

We went out of town this past weekend with our awesome bible study group to Thad & Sarah's lake house which was a perfect little last weekend away before baby comes (and I'm not allowed to travel more than an hour away).  We are so thankful for this group of people in our lives!  And I'm glad to have so many "mommy" friends to ask questions when the time comes!  This weekend we plan on installing the car seat, setting up the pack n play in our room, and any other things we need to get set up.  I also need to get my hospital bag packed.

Corey and I were laying in bed last night talking about what we do when I go into labor and other things "baby-is-coming-soon" related and man its really starting to feel real now!  And we are getting so so excited!  I have my 36 week appointment on Tuesday which involves the first cervical check.  I'll let you know if we have any progress!

I can definitely tell a difference, I'm thinking she's dropped a bit in the last few days.  I was feeling almost sore in my pelvic area and I wasn't sure if it was just from my workouts or not, but I kept thinking it was sore muscles (especially my inner thighs).  I would notice it every time I got up from sitting or laying down in the middle of the night.  But now I'm realizing its almost like its my whole pelvic area down there and especially my pubic bone.  I'm guessing its just the pressure as she is lowering down.  Sorry if this all sounds weird haha!  I also feel an intense need to pee, anytime I have to go, its like I feel like I may burst right then when I stand up.  I can feel myself doing the pregnant woman waddle when I first stand up, but at least I'm able to notice it and get myself to walk normal haha!

Today is Tuesday and I'm back from the doctor!  I am 1 cm dilated, 60% effaced and baby has definitely dropped!  She said she would call her at station -1.  Everything looked great and she said this should be a sign of good labor hopefully.  Baby's heart rate was 152, my blood pressure and urine looked great still, and my weight gain so far is 22 pounds.  The doctor said next week they won't check me, but will again at 38 weeks.  Really the whole progress thing doesn't mean you will deliver soon or not, just depends on your baby and your body, everyone is different so we'll see what happens.

Last night I had my Breastfeeding class, which is the last of my classes.  It was honestly really helpful and informative.  I think breastfeeding is something you don't really know how its going to work until you do it, so it was nice to get a lot of info and just put my mind at ease a little bit more.  Its something I'm pretty determined to do, I just hope baby girl will cooperate! :)

I have to say after talking with my bible study girls last night, I am realizing even more how lucky I am still in this pregnancy!  As of now I have no swelling, not really any heartburn, I'm not feeling overheated in this heat, I'm not feeling exhausted or overly emotional (although I definitely have my moments).  My only complaint right now is really just the uncomfort that comes from sitting all day, and I know its just due to how she is positioned in there because its always only hurts on my right side.  I am very grateful for all of these things!  I have to say, I have reached the point where I am so ready for her to come (but I know she needs to stay in there at least 2 more weeks so she is fully developed and healthy!).  I am just getting so excited to meet her!!!

Last weekend we got a lot done on the nursery so I thought I would post a little to do list for what we have left since we are down to 5 weeks!  It might look like a lot, but really it doesn't feel like too much.  We have a lot of free weekends between now and baby to get all this stuff accomplished!

Its funny how the weeks seem to be flying by (only 6 left??? how can that be!?) but seem to be dragging at the same time!  Really I mean the evenings and weekends fly by, but the days at work seem soooo long.  I am having trouble concentrating as all I can think about is baby baby baby.  People say you should work up to your due date so you can keep yourself busy, but to me, I feel like I would keep my self a lot busier not sitting at my desk thinking about everything All. Day. Long.!  I could see myself having trouble getting through those final weeks!!!

I am so happy to know there are only 3 weeks until baby is full term.  Each week that passes is really exciting knowing she is staying in there and getting fully developed!  I am shocked at how well I still feel at 34 weeks pregnant.  I'm still not feeling too squished.  I am starting to feel "pregnant" a lot more though, if that makes sense.  It seemed like before I could still forget that I was at times when I felt like my normal self, but I can definitely sense that I am slowing down.  I'm tired/sore by the end of the day if I get a good workout in, make dinner, clean up or run any errands, and shower all in a row.  I've been making myself slow it down more and more!

I had my 34 week doctor's appointment Tuesday this week.  Baby and me both looked healthy!  Her heart rate was 145 and the doctor said she still feels head down.  I felt for a few days that maybe she rotated so her back was facing out because I was feeling most of her kicks inside rather than on the outside of my belly, but now I'm feeling them both places so who knows!  The doctor said its hard to tell right now, but she was pretty sure she felt that way (which is great because that's how she should be for delivery day).  I am definitely noticing her kicks are starting to slow down somewhat as she is running out of room, but still feeling plenty constantly.  My blood pressure, urine, and weight looked good at 21 pounds so far.

33 Weeks

The main thing I want to remember this week is baby showers!  We had two last weekend thrown for us!  The first was on Saturday and was thrown by three of my best friends and was a "BABY-Q" theme.  It was a co-ed cookout type of shower and we had a blast!  The second was on Sunday and was thrown by my mom & Corey's mom & really by his sister as well.  She is a graphic design major and made the invites for both showers and so many of the little details you'll see in the pictures.

We were absolutely spoiled by our friends and family and recieved so many gifts for our baby girl.  The showers really just made me even that much more excited to meet her!  I can't believe how real it made everything feel seeing her room full of baby things.  We have a free weekend this weekend which we are planning to get a lot done for the baby's room.  We are going to work on sanding and repainting her dresser and we also want to get the crib put together!  We still have quite a bit to do on her room, but I'm not feeling too worried, just excited to get it moving!

I only have the pictures from the first shower, so I will share those now, and share the others when I get them!
